The events listed below are the same event. If the Matthew's account doesn't answer a
question then in most cases the Revelation account will.
 

Mat 24:29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and  the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: 30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in  heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of Man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. 31 And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

     Rev 6:12 And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood; 13 And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind. 14 And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places. 15 And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief  captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; 16 And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the  wrath of the Lamb: 17 For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?
     Rev 7:9 After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands;
Rev 7:13 And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they? 14 And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and  have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

    In examining these two events many things are discovered. A time of  tribulation on the earth followed by signs that are in the heavens but visible to man. Then the Lord coming in the clouds and gathering his chosen from the heavens and the earth before the great day of His wrath.

    There is another passage that gives even more information concerning the event of the rapture:
Rev 14:14 And I looked, and behold a white cloud, and upon the cloud [one] sat like unto the Son of man, having on his head a golden crown, and in his hand a sharp sickle.
Rev 14:16 And he that sat on the cloud thrust in his sickle on the earth; and the earth was reaped.

    Again this tells of the event of the Son of Man coming in the clouds and gathering His own from the earth the same as the Matthew account.
Jesus comes in the clouds only once.

So to see what takes place just before this event look back to 14:7-13
 

Rev 14:7 Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters. 8 And there followed another angel, saying, Babylon is fallen, is fallen, that great city, because she made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication.

That hour is the wrath of God
 

9 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive [his] mark in his forehead, or in his hand, 14 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: 11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.
:12 Here is the patience of the saints: here [are] they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus. 13 And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed [are] the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.
 

    So what is happening?
First the fall of mystical Babylon and then the resurrection of the dead begins?

    And yet between the fall of mystical Babylon and the coming of the Lord in the clouds to reap the earth of the elect;  people are still being saved and warned not to take the mark.
12 Here is the patience of the saints: here [are] they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus. 13 And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed [are] the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow
them.
    The earth shaking, sun darkened, and moon red and so forth, may be the event that causes the fall of Babylon. First off notice that the earth quakes first then the sun is not able to be seen.

    After this the 144,000 are sealed with the seal of God and then the reaping takes place, made clear by the appearance of the multitude of saints before the throne.  Then the wrath of God begins.

    This being followed by an angel who reaps the grapes and throws them in the wine press of God's wrath, which is Armageddon. Jesus will be on the earth because it says that the blood comes up to the horses bridle and it is said that Jesus will be seen on a horse with His robe dipped in blood.

    I believe that these signs before the coming of the Lord in the clouds is a nuclear bomb. Starting with the great shaking of the earth in which the mountains move back and fourth, out of their place. In the day the sun, which is brighter than the moon, can't be see at all and yet by night fall the moon is only red (filtered light coming through). I think the reason the sun can't be seen is because of smoke and debris, but by nightfall it is beginning to settle so that the moon appears red caused by the amount of smoke and debris left in the atmosphere.  When we see this then we should look up because our redemption draweth neigh.

    I also believe the events of the 6th trump will be taking place at this time. The 6th trump brings on the bowls of the wrath of God.

    Men hide themselves in dens (caves) and want the rocks to fall to cover them from the wrath of the Lamb. I think this means they want the entrance to the den to be covered with rocks, perhaps to keep out the radiation.  The first bowl of wrath is malignant sores on men (radiation burns?).

    But we don't understand all the things of God, for example what we call the rapture. There is sooo much we don't understand, but will understand more as it nears, and some of it only as it begins to happen to them.

Will it take place during these feasts?

Feast of Trumpets
10 days
Day of Atonement
5 days
Feast of Booths
7 days
Feast of the Last Great Day (when all the harvest has been brought in)

Possibly,  since when the souls of the dead in Christ are seen in heaven in the 6th seal  they have palm branches in their hands, which indicates the Feast of Tabernacles (Feast of Booths).

I do know that the resurrection of the dead is at the same moment that the Two Witnesses are resurrected and taken up to the clouds. There is only one "first resurrection" of the dead in Christ,  and they must be part of it.  Will they be killed between the Day of Atonement and the Feast of Booths?

The "silence in heaven"  is caused by Jesus, and all the souls of the dead in Him, and all the angles, having left heaven and are next seen in the clouds of earth for the resurrection of the dead in Christ and the snatching up (rapture) of the living believers.

1Thes 4:14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring WITH Him those who have fallen asleep in Jesus. :17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air.
